MY WORK

Independent Consultant in Offgrid Energy and Nature-based Solutions

About

Naomi provides development finance and international business development consulting in the fields of energy access and nature based solutions.

Naomi’s career spans corporate and infrastructure project financing for the investment bank UBS and international development in the context of climate finance for clients such as the World Bank Group, Clinton Climate Initiative, Conservation International, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and its Blue Natural Capital Financing Facility (BNCFF).

Offgrid Energy Access

With over 15 years experience in offgrid energy access across South East Asia and Africa, Naomi has project managed multilateral development bank programs, working with governments, the private sector, development partners, and end-users. She implemented projects that addressed key market barriers to enable access and affordability to energy. Offgrid energy access is required for the approximately 700 million people who are still living without electricity, of which over 80% are in rural areas.

Nature-based Solutions

Naomi’s work in NbS include contributing to the Green Gray Infrastructure Funding and Finance Playbook (August 2022) and serving as an expert reviewer on proposals on coastal and green gray infrastructure projects. Nature-based solutions are actions to protect, sustainably manage, or restore natural ecosystems, that address societal challenges such as climate change, human health, food and water security, and disaster risk reduction effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits.
